A pledge is a promise to make a specified gift within a designated time period. Pledges to the Woodlands Fund can be accepted over the phone, or in writing by mail or e-mail. Pledge payment reminders are typically mailed semi-annually in December and April.

Pledges to the Woodlands Fund should be completed within the fiscal year in which the pledge is made. Fiscal years end on the 30th of June of each year. Major gifts for endowment or capital purposes are often completed in installments over multiple years.

A donor-advised fund (DAF) is a type of giving program that allows donors to combine the most favorable tax benefits with the flexibility to easily support their favorite philanthropic efforts. When you contribute cash, securities, or other assets as a philanthropic gift from a DAF, you are generally eligible to take an immediate tax deduction. Then, your donation can be invested for tax-free growth, making available even more money for philanthropy.
