In August 2017, the House and Senate passed a comprehensive education funding bill that was signed into law by the governor. The law includes a provision for tax credit scholarships, which provide strong incentives for donors to support non-public school scholarships for low-income students in the state. Illinois students from low-income families may use these new scholarships to attend a non-public school of their choice. Several Woodlands Academy students reside in focus districts and may qualify for tax credit scholarships. Learn more here.
In most cases, an outright gift of appreciated securities entitles the donor to an income tax deduction equal to the fair market value of the securities. If you will be transferring stock or other securities to the school, please notify Barbara Keilwitz at 847.234.4300 ext. 229.
Many companies have a matching gift policy that can double or sometimes triple the amount of a contribution of cash or securities by an employee or their spouse.
Woodlands Academy credits the individual donor for their total gift which includes the company matching gift and is recognized in the giving society with the total gift amount. To search your employer of company, please click here.
