Merit Scholarships

Merit scholarships are based on various criteria including: academic performance, community service, extracurricular engagement, and commitment to a Sacred Heart education. Priority for merit scholarships will be given to applicants who take the HSPT (High School Placement Test) at Woodlands.

Head of School Scholarship recognizes an outstanding student who is motivated both by a love of learning and by a respect for intellectual values. Her application, academic record, recommendations, extracurricular achievements, Shadow Day Visit and interview, and HSPT score must reflect these distinctive qualities. It is an annual renewable $15,000 scholarship so long as the recipient remains in good standing at Woodlands.

The Barbara Wood-Prince ’54 Scholarship is awarded to select graduates of the School of St. Mary in Lake Forest who have distinguished themselves with outstanding academic achievement and a commitment to serve their school and community. Candidates must submit an essay in response to the prompt "“How I will make a difference at Woodlands”. It is an annual renewable $15,000 scholarship so long as the recipient remains in good standing at Woodlands.

The Sr. De La Chapelle STEM Scholarship sponsored by the Callahan-Erdoes Family is awarded to a select group of incoming students who have a record of outstanding academic achievement, have obtained high scores in Math and Quantitative Reasoning on the HSPT entrance exam, and have demonstrated an interest in extracurricular STEM pursuits. It is an annual renewable $10,000 scholarship so long as the recipient remains in good standing at Woodlands. This merit-based scholarship is part of the Callahan-Erdoes family’s vision to inspire Woodlands students to engage meaningfully in STEM pursuits during their time at Woodlands.

Barat Merit Scholarship is awarded to a student who has distinguished herself as an outstanding scholar. Criteria includes strong HSPT score, high academic achievement, extracurricular leadership, and affirming interview or Shadow Day Visit. It is an annual renewable scholarship so long as the recipient remains in good standing at Woodlands.

The Duchesne Scholarship is awarded to a student who has persevered and demonstrated consistent dedication to her studies and service to her parish school and her community. It is an annual renewable scholarship so long as the recipient remains in good standing at Woodlands.

The Goals & Criteria Scholarship recognizes a student who embodies the Goals & Criteria of a Sacred Heart education. The student application must demonstrate these qualities and indicate her potential to contribute to the school community. It is an annual renewable scholarship so long as the recipient remains in good standing at Woodlands.

The Sacred Heart Scholarship is awarded to all incoming 9th grade students who are graduates of a U.S. Sacred Heart Network school and wish to continue their Sacred Heart education through high school. It is an annual renewable scholarship so long as the recipient remains in good standing at Woodlands.

Alumnae Merit Scholarships are awarded to daughters and granddaughters of alumnae who demonstrate outstanding academic achievement, extracurricular engagement, and service to their communities. It is an annual renewable scholarship so long as the recipient remains in good standing at Woodlands.
