Art is all around--explore nature-based art.
Camp Description
We will begin the week by exploring the cultural and art historical context of nature-based artworks. Then we’ll be off on a field trip to collect a variety of flowers, textured leaves, rocks, feathers and other eye-catching natural forms - anything that would make an interesting mark or have beautiful silhouettes. Students will then roll small slabs of clay and emboss the natural objects to create relief prints on the clay plate. In a similar way, we will be making distinctive Prussian Blue monochromatic cyanotype photograms with the same objects. The camp will conclude with a field trip to Morton Arboretum.
