Dear Boarding Parents/Guardians and Students, We are fast approaching the end of the 2022-2023 school year, and it feels like we welcomed the students to campus yesterday. I am VERY PROUD of each and every one of the boarding students; they have thrived beautifully here at Woodlands Academy. The month of May marks a time of transition that includes many celebrations and time-honored events. During this month, we also prepare for the closing of the dorm and the student's summer departure. Students are responsible for packing their belongings and cleaning their personal spaces. Please see below for more details about this process. |
Residence Life Check-Out Process On May 15, students will start their packing process *Donation Items: Any items students wish to donate should be placed in the fitness room next to the Residence Life Office. Items left elsewhere will not be donated. Acceptable items include uniform clothing (no underwear), unused toiletries, books, school supplies, furniture, backpacks, shoes, or linens (no washcloths). Ask a Res Life Staff member if you need to know if an item can be donated. *Please Note: Students involved in the Global Odyssey Program and trips are responsible for adjusting their packing and cleaning needs in accordance with their travel schedule. Global Odyssey travelers must store their belongings by Friday, May 26. |
Summer Storage for Non-Graduating Students From May 15 through May 23, students currently using the summer storage room must remove all their belongings, including luggage, boxes, furniture, etc. Emptying the summer storage allows students to sort through their belongings and for returning students to use the space. The Residence Life Staff assigns storage spaces. From May 24 through May 26, students will pack their personal belongings. Please read the following information on what can or cannot be put into summer storage: - Students are permitted to put up to 5 boxes, 2 suitcases and 1 piece of furniture (lamp, carpet, chair).
- The Residence Life Staff will provide cardboard boxes, which students can pick up in the office on the 3rd floor.
- ONLY these boxes will be permitted into the summer storage (no plastic boxes, totes, or garbage bags will be accepted). This is to ensure that every student has equal space.
- Students must label cardboard boxes, their 2 pieces of luggage and 1 piece of furniture with their name.
*Please Note: The following items are not allowed in summer storage - liquids, perishable food, live plants, bikes, plastic containers, mattresses/mattress covers or anything you wish you had during the summer. From May 26 through June 2, students will move all their approved items into their assigned spots and will only have access to them once they return in the fall. Residence Life Staff is not responsible for putting student items in the storage room. Any items left in the hallway WILL BE DISCARDED. Students planning to return early for sports or orientation should inform Residence Life Staff and place their belongings closer to the door. THE SUMMER STORAGE WILL CLOSE FRIDAY, JUNE 2, AT 5:00 PM |
Schedule for June 6 - June 8, 2023 - Tuesday, June 6, from 12:00 pm - 9:00 pm - All boarders move out (except seniors)
