Dear Woodlands Families, Students, Faculty, and Staff, First, let us reassure you that Woodlands Academy continues to have no suspected or confirmed cases of students, faculty, staff or administration with COVID-19.
As you know, today we made the decision to move to remote learning for the coming week. As the Coronavirus situation continues to develop, the most cautious and calm decision is for the students to learn remotely beginning on Monday, March 16. Please note, building access is limited to residents remaining on campus next week. At this time, our plan is to return to school on Monday, April 6. That said, we will continue to monitor the situation closely.
This next week gives us a unique opportunity to develop remote learning as another tool in our instructional toolbox. The program has been designed to create a stimulating experience for the students, to follow the requirements laid out by the Illinois State Board of Education, and to challenge each young woman to stretch herself in regards to Goal 5: Personal Growth in an Atmosphere of Wise Freedom.
Please find more information regarding remote learning on our newly established Remote Learning Hub.
St. Madeleine Sophie Barat firmly believed in the power of silence to ground each of us in the Holy Spirit. In these uncertain times, please find time for silence and contemplation. Thank you all for your continued partnership as we navigate the path ahead. Please stay in communication with us as we move forward and we promise to do the same.
With blessings for health and happiness, Meg Steele Head of School Chris Schmidt Associate Head, Academics and School Life |
