Music & Performing Arts

Orchestra

Open to intermediate and advanced string and wind players, the Woodlands Orchestra meets daily to rehearse and perform a wide range of music, from classical to contemporary. Students also have opportunities to compete in regional and state music festivals, consistently earning top honors. Performances include school concerts, liturgies, and special events. Auditions are held on the first Friday of each school year.

Kaleidoscope

Kaleidoscope is Woodlands’ premiere choir and closest artistic team. This choir sings the widest range of music, from gospel to classical to pop. Each year, Kaleidoscope travels and competes during a spring Music Trip, which is the highlight of many students’ time at Woodlands. Singers interested in traveling with friends, strengthening their vocal skills, and deepening their roots in our musical community are invited to audition.

Sophie’s Singers

Sophie's Singers is a vibrant and inclusive choir open to students of all musical backgrounds. Named in honor of Madeleine Sophie Barat, this dynamic group explores a wide range of music—from Taylor Swift to Broadway classics—making it the perfect place to build vocal confidence, develop foundational skills, and have fun through song.

Microscope

Microscope is Woodlands’ student-led vocal ensemble, designed for some of our most advanced and dedicated singers. This audition-only group specializes in small-ensemble repertoire, performing everything from pop a cappella to classical chamber music. Microscope offers a creative and challenging musical home for students who have demonstrated excellence and commitment within the Woodlands music program.

Theater

Woodlands Academy’s Theater Department offers students the opportunity to explore all aspects of performance and production through inclusive, student-centered experiences. With two major productions each year in Woodlands' Susan Saint James Performing Arts Center—a fall play and a spring musical—students develop confidence, creativity, and collaboration skills both on stage and behind the scenes. Open to all grade levels, the program encourages leadership in acting, directing, stage management, and technical design, all in the spirit of Sacred Heart values.
