Letter from the President

Woodlands Academy Alumnae Association (WAAA) is an ever-growing group of diverse Sacred Heart women. The Board of the Alumnae Association plans and executes a variety of events and activities and includes alums from Woodlands Academy, Academy of the Sacred Heart, Barat College and Villa Duchesne (St. Louis). We encourage all Alumnae of the Sacred Heart to participate in our events.

Some of these include the rededication of the 1903 RSCJ Cemetery on the expanded campus at 12 noon on September 29, 2018 (Reunion Day). Through the generosity of many donors, this rededication is the culmination of many months of a major improvement project to honor those who gave their lives to teach us and so many alumnae of the Sacred Heart. This involved the work of so many including RSCJs, and alumnae of both Woodlands Academy and Barat College. Please join us for this beautiful ceremony

The 2018 Reunion, honoring classes ending in 3’s and 8’s, will take place at the school on September 29, 2018 at 3:00pm. After many years of holding the Reunion dinner off campus, we returned all events to the school last which was a big hit. The alums will walk the halls and relive their memories, greet Mater, celebrate mass in the Chapel and enjoy cocktails in the courtyard before sitting down to dinner. To learn more please go to

This Winter brings a brand new event hosted by the Alumnae Board: Advent by Candlelight on December 9, 2018 from 4:00-6:00pm. This is a special women-only event to allow us to step back from the holiday rush, gather friends together and refocus on meaning of the season of Advent. Please save the date and stay tuned for more information.

Congé, the annual fundraiser for Woodlands Academy will take place on February 23, 2019 at the Glen View Country Club. Every year the Alumnae Association looks forward to filling a table or two of alums for a truly fun evening. Please join us at the Alumnae table on your own or with a significant other; it’s a great evening!

The Evening of Lenten Prayer and Reflection is March 13, 2019. Please join us as we invite an RSCJ to help us prepare for the Easter season.

In April, the Alumnae Association conducts the Induction Ceremony and Luncheon for our graduating Seniors as they transition into their roles as the newest class of Alumnae of the International Network of Sacred Heart.

May Crowning will take place on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 and is still one of the most beautiful traditions at Woodlands and is open to all Alumnae.

We love new faces and new ideas on the Board so if time and priorities allow join us on the board or at the events we sponsor. In addition to the events, we meet 5 times a year from September to May on Staurday mornings. If you are interested please click the button above.

Woodlands Academy publishes a bi-monthly e-newsletter full of news about the school and our amazing alumnae. Please contact Kathleen Reidy ( the Alumnae Director/Assistant Director of Advancement if you are not receiving our bi-monthly e-newsletter.
