Letter from the President

The

Woodlands Academy Alumnae Association is an ever-growing group of diverse Sacred Heart women. The Board of the Alumnae Association plans and executes a variety of events and activities and includes alums from Woodlands Academy, Academy of the Sacred Heart, Barat College and Villa Duchesne (St. Louis). We have board members living in the Chicago-area and throughout the US including Florida; Washington, DC;  San Francisco and New York City metro. We encourage all Alumnae of the Sacred Heart to participate in our events.

The 2019 Reunion, honoring classes ending in 4’s and 9’s, will take place at the school on September 28, 2019 at 3:00pm. After many years of holding the Reunion dinner off campus, we returned all events to the school in 2017. Alums can walk the halls and relive memories, greet Mater, celebrate mass in the Chapel and enjoy cocktails in the courtyard before sitting down to a formal dinner in the dining room. To learn more please go to https://www.woodlandsacademy.org/alumnae/reunion-weekend.

The Alumnae Board's newest event, Advent by Candlelight, returns for the second year on December 15, 2019 from 4:00-6:00pm. This is a special women-only event that allows us to step back from the holiday rush, gather friends together, and refocus on meaning of the season of Advent. Please save the date and stay tuned for more information.

Congé, the annual fundraiser for Woodlands Academy will take place on February 22, 2020 at the Glen View Country Club. Every year the Alumnae Association looks forward to filling a table or two of alums for a truly fun evening. Please join us at the Alumnae table on your own or with a significant other. It’s a great evening to benefit Woodlands students!

The Evening of Lenten Prayer and Reflection is March 18, 2020. Please join us as we prepare for the Easter season.

On April 24, 2020, the Alumnae Association will conduct the Induction Ceremony and Luncheon for our graduating Seniors as they transition into their roles as the newest class of Alumnae of the International Network of Sacred Heart.

May Crowning will take place on Friday, May 1, 2020 and is still one of the most beautiful traditions at Woodlands and is open to all Alumnae.

We love new faces and new ideas on the Board so if time and priorities allow join us on the board or at the events we sponsor. In addition to the events, we meet 5 times a year from September to May on Saturday mornings. If you are interested please click the button above.

Woodlands Academy publishes a bi-monthly e-newsletter full of news about the school and our amazing alumnae. Please contact Kathleen Reidy (kreidy@woodlandsacademy.com) the Alumnae Director/Assistant Director of Advancement if you are not receiving our bi-monthly e-newsletter.
