Theater Department Announces Lineup

To great fanfare the theater department, led by Ms. Bev Adamczyk and Ms. Jennifer Brostrom, announced the school year’s theatrical production lineup.

This fall, the department is proud to present "Steel Magnolias." This all-female comedy-drama is an ideal fit for our thespians as they explore the inner workings of a small-town, in-home beauty parlor and themes of friendship and resilience amidst adversity. The playwright, Robert Harley, based the show on his experience of the death of his sister. Auditions are Tuesday, September 6, 3:10 - 5:00 pm in the Susan Saint James Performing Arts Center. The production will take place on November 3, 4, and 5.

Joined in the spring by musical director Mr. Jesse Borower, the department announced that “Highschool Musical” will be this year’s musical production. Debuting in 2006 as a Disney Channel Original Movie, High School Musical became an instant success and developed a dedicated following. As fellow Wildcats, this romantic comedy-drama, which follows the two main characters as they audition for the lead in their own high school musical, is an often-referenced movie around campus. The musical will debut on March 2 followed by performances on March 3 and 4. Auditions will take place in December.
