To the Woodlands Academy Community,

It is with great sadness that I write to let you know that Sr. Patsy Reiss died last night in Albany, New York.  Yesterday together, Patsy and two of her fellow Religious of the Sacred Heart renewed their vows.  Patsy went home to God shortly thereafter with these words from her vows, "Trusting in the fidelity of God and the love of my sisters..." in her mind and heart.

Let us give thanks for a woman who lived her life in complete fidelity to the Spirit and whose life overflowed with the love of God that had been poured into her heart.  We at Woodlands Academy and Barat College were the beneficiaries of her prayers and love.  Please join me in prayer,

Good and gracious God,
we commend to you our sister and friend, Patsy,
who has lived a long and faithful life loving you,
sharing your love with everyone she encountered.
Now, she has made this final journey to you.
Welcome her into eternal love where she will be forever in your peace and
radiance.

Remember, too, all those who mourn her loss, her family and friends, her
RSCJ sisters, and the Sacred Heart family, especially those who are or have
been a part of her life at Woodlands Academy and Barat College. Patsy
prayed daily for many people, remembering birthdays, anniversaries, deaths,
and other significant events. May those people now find even greater
strength in her intercession.
