Letter from the President
The words of Madeline Sophie ring true for me and the more than 4,000 other young women that have passed through the doors of Woodlands Academy. It is our actions and the examples we set forth that the world sees, and it never ceases to amaze me the things that Woodlands graduates are accomplishing daily. We are involved in public health, government, education, science, law, banking, and many other professions. It is not our involvement in these fields that is amazing, but the fact that we take our Sacred Heart education and the ideals of Madeline Sophie with us into these careers. As Woodlands alumnae we are living these words in our actions every day.
As the new Woodlands Academy Alumnae Board President for the 2012-2013 school year, it is my honor to assist and guide our alums through the activities and endeavors on behalf of the Alumnae Association.
Classes ending in 2s and 7s will be gathering for Reunion Weekend over the weekend of Oct. 5th, but I would like to invite all alumnae to attend any of the events for the weekend, specifically the Head of School Cocktail Reception on Friday evening. Other planned activities for the year include: An All Saints Day Liturgy honoring our deceased alumnae with a special memoriam in November; an Alumnae Day of Reflection held prior to the Lenten season, and of course the Alumnae Induction Ceremony for our seniors in May.
I encourage all Woodlands Academy and Barat Sacred Heart alumnae to attend any and all of these events. Come not only to see the wonderful young women who are Woodlands Academy today, but also to serve as an example of what Sacred Heart women are capable of.
Hope to see you soon,
Marni Soderlund Mans '90
