Transportation

Woodlands Academy of the Sacred Heart is located at 760 E. Westleigh Road in Lake Forest, Illinois. The school is approximately 30 miles north of Chicago, one half mile off of Route 41 (at the Westleigh exit) and directly east of the Barat College gates.
Woodlands Academy students have both public transportation and carpool options. The train and buses are convenient and utilized by many at the school.

Carpools:
Many of our students find carpools to be the most convenient way to travel to and from Woodlands. The Office of Admissions is more than willing to provide your family with a list of other students who share your same zip code, or who live in a neighboring town, so that you can start a new carpool or join an existing one at the beginning of the school year.

Bus Service:
Woodlands provides a limited bus service to and from the train stations in West Lake Forest and Fort Sheridan daily. In the morning the bus will be waiting at 7:35 a.m. to pick up the students off their different trains at the station and take them to school. In the afternoons the bus will leave Woodlands at promptly 3:15 p.m. (and at 2:40 p.m. on Wednesday's) to take the girls to their respective trains.
Bus service for the academic year is $1000.00.

Public Transportation:
Woodlands is readily accessible by public transportation via the Metra Union Pacific North Line between Chicago and Fort Sheridan and the Metra Milwaukee North Line between Fox Lake and West Lake Forest. Their schedules (including current timetables, rates and ticket information) are available at www.metrarail.com or telephone #312-332-6677.
