The print collection contains more than 15,000 volumes of fiction, non-fiction and reference titles, plus 15 newspapers and magazines. The library also owns nearly 500 curriculum-related videos and DVDs.
Staff provides library instruction and orientation, teaches information literacy skills, helps with reference database searching and web evaluation, and offers research assistance.
The Library subscribes to online reference databases selected based on their ability to provide periodical and reference information that supports the curricular needs of students and faculty. These databases are available via the Library’s home page and may be accessed remotely by students and faculty via “password bookmarks” which can be obtained from the Library staff.
The Library provides Internet access for academic and research purposes based on the school’s Internet Acceptable Use Policy.
The audiovisual collection has nearly 500 titles in video and DVD formats. These materials are available for checkout by both faculty and students.
Our collection contains 15 magazine and newspaper titles, including the Chicago Tribune, Time, Newsweek, and National Geographic, and all are available for in-library use.
As members of the North Suburban Library System (NSLS) we are able to obtain many items that we do not currently own from other, nearby libraries via interlibrary loan. Please ask a Librarian for assistance if a title you need is not in the Woodlands online catalog.
Books and videos are continuously being added to the Library's collection via purchase, donation, or grant. Our most recent acquisitions are listed below. If you see a title of interest, please come to the Library to check it out!
